A Perfect Day

Ryan graduated on June 1, 2012.  It was a miletsone day and he earned it in many seen and even more unseen ways.  I wanted it to be perfect for him.

The music began. He walked in and was seated with his class of 76 graduates. I was completely taken in. The program was wonderful and his friends gave great speeches. When it came time for the presentation of awards we were surprised to hear Ryan announced as recipient of a university presidential Book Award! 

So, our Ry-man graduated.  It didn't matter that he had a little misstep on his way down the stairs to receive his award, or that I missed that little misstep because I was fumbling with the camera trying to capture the moment, or that the photo of him receiving his diploma came out blurry. He graduated and that's all that matters.

   Ryan's smile spoke volumes.  He was happy and when my children are happy, it's a perfect day!
